Position Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Transformer Design Engineer with a strong electrical background and hands-on experience in transformer design and tender support. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing and optimizing transformers, with a focus on dry-type, pad-mounted, and distribution units. You will play a key role in customizing solutions for global clients and contributing to our product development roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the complete design process for dry-type, pad-mounted, and distribution transformers including electromagnetic calculation, thermal analysis, insulation design, and structural design.
- Collaborate with the sales team to analyze customer specifications (RFQs) and create technically compliant and cost‑effective design proposals.
- Prepare technical documentation including drawings, BOM, test specifications, and manufacturing instructions.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing, testing, and field operation.
- Continuously improve product design for cost reduction and performance enhancement while ensuring compliance with IEC, IEEE, ANSI standards.
- Work directly with customers to understand technical requirements and provide expert recommendations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of transformer design and development experience.
- Design experience with at least two of the following: Dry-Type Transformers, Pad-Mounted Transformers, Distribution Transformers.
- Experience supporting technical aspects of bids and tenders.
- Strong knowledge of transformer theory, materials, and international standards.
Preferred Background
- Experience with transformer manufacturers such as Zhongshan Mingyang Electrical, CEEG, Jinpan International, Huapeng, or similar companies.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in transformer design software such as ANSYS, MATLAB, or other industry tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Fluent Mandarin; English proficiency preferred for international projects.
Location: Canada (Remote/Home-based, with extensive travel across North America)

Position Summary
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of power transformers at customer sites across North America. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on capabilities, and excellent communication with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site commissioning, maintenance, diagnostic testing, and repair of power transformers.
- Troubleshoot technical issues to minimize customer downtime.
Provide technical support to customers both on-site and remotely. - Prepare detailed service reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to improve product performance.
- Ensure safety compliance and follow HSE protocols at customer sites.
- Manage parts, tools, and documentation for field tasks.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in field service, testing, or maintenance of transformers or heavy electrical equipment.
- Valid US visa and eligibility to work in Canada.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and customer management skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 70% across North America.
